I love the breastfeeding aspect, of course!

I love that she breastfeeds. Breastfeeding all of my kids is such a fond memory. Whenever I see a mom breast feeding it brings back that sweet feeling of just looking into my babies eyes! I would love when they would smile back and the milk would run down there cheek!

I love that she breastfeeds her baby! Breastfeeding is my favorite thing in the world. My two year old will love to help her doll feed her baby if we win!

I love breastfeeding and natural birth... Oh! And the attach parenting! I love all!
I love the breastfeeding and the birthing. My daughter plays with her dolls, loves them and "nurses" them as she wraps them. How encouraging of all things natural for her to have a doll that does the same! <3 these beauties!!

As a mother and a midwifery student I love every aspect all your dolls. I love that they model attachment parenting with breastfeeding, baby wearing, and giving birth. I also love that I can use them professionally and personally. My very favorite part though is the placenta!

I absolutely *adore* that MamAmor Dolls are babywearers!! As a babywearing educator who has worn all three kiddos, it is absolutely something I - and my children! - can identify with deeply. Babywearing is love is mommyhood!

I also think it's incredible for our children to be able to have a doll that vaginally births her babies (umbilical cord, placenta and all!) -- we are homebirthers, and our older children were both present for their little sister's birth, and loved it!

And of course, breastfeeding. <3 I *love* that MamAmor dolls not only nurse their newborns/infants, but their toddlers as well. Absolutely fantastic!

Both of my children were born at home in water. I nursed each one until they were 41/2 years old. I wore them until they no longer wanted to be worn - about 3 years old. What I love about MamAmor Dolls is the beauty they bring to what's natural, but often shunned in our culture, which is giving birth, nursing and baby wearing. I've spent the last decade raising my children to honor birth, nursing and women's abilities to do these things. The dolls embody those beliefs. Thanks for creating them. I would love to give one to my daughter. She'll be 6 in June.

I lke the fact she can have a vbac. Eventhough my vbac failed I still think it's important to show that it is possible!

My favorite aspect is the breastfeeding and birthing, and that they can be shared so beautifully with children!

The aspect I like most is BREASTFEEDING (and I also love that they babywear)!!!! My daughter already gives her baby the "nums" and she's only 10 months old. I think MamAmor Dolls are so awesome because they allow our children to act out natural parenting!

I loved nursing and giving birth! The oxytocin rush is amazing! Rachael bieltz
I love that she looks like lots of moms I know, she does what's natural for her baby and looks cute doing it! :)

I love that the doll has crazy hair like me, that she babywears (even though I prefer a wrap to a ring sling, the basic meaning is still there!), she breastfeeds, and (I would assume) that she gives birth naturally. Even though this doll doesn't have the incision, I love that some of the dolls are VBAC ready. As much as I wanted, tried, and prayed for a natural birth with my second child (I was able to have one with my first), she was breech and could not turn, so unfortunately, she was born via C-section. I would love a doll that I could use to show each girl the special and unique way that they entered the world.

My favorite part of motherhood that Isabella does, probably has to be being pregnant, and esp growing another human through the life giving organ of the placenta. Woman are amazing!

There's no way I can think of just one aspect!

As a natural birthing, breastfeeding, babywearing, mother and birthworker, I love that she gives birth and breastfeeds.

I love that these aren't your average dolls. They all have such wonderful funky style and are so indicative of women- all different, all gorgeous!

Also, as a curvy Black woman, I LOVE those beautiful hips!!

I love EVERYTHING about Mamamor dolls! So unique, beautiful and powerful. It would be such a joy to share with my kids and with my clients, as a doula. What fun to bring to prenatal appts as an educational tool for siblings!
I love that she comes in a realistic shape and has realistic colourings, not just a skinny blonde white mum.

My favorite motherhood aspect of the MamAmor doll is that she is inclusive of both vaginal births and cesarean births so mamas who have birthed in any manner can enjoy her. She's just BEAUTIFUL!

The aspect of motherhood that I love most about MamAmor dolls is thier realism. We don't have a stork brins us our babies, nor does he feed them. We give birth to them and we feed them and I love that your dolls proudly and gently portray that. Plus I love anything that supports breastfeeding as I've breastfeed all three of my babies and plan to do so again with my fourth (due Jan 1st 2013 ISH). Thank you MamAmor fot this great opportunity!
Angie said…
I love that each one is unique. Each mother has her own, unique and special path and I love that the MamAmor dolls celebrate the beauty of each mother and baby dyad. Bonus points for babywearing, breastfeeding and VBAC, but even within these areas, each one is so unique and beautiful.
ij3 said…
I love MamAmor Dolls because without using words they encourage mothers and children who see them to accept natural childbirth, breastfeeding and baby wearing. Most little girls and even little boys play with dolls at some point in their childhood and what they repeatedly see is what they will carry with them into their adult years. MamAmor dolls can be used as an educational tool even when a child is just playing because the child not only sees "Mom" or "Aunt" or "Friend" breastfeeding but also their toy mama taking care of her baby in the same way thus making it a normal everyday occurance and not something to frown upon as an adult.

The gestating, the birthing, the nursing, and the love!

I love everything but I really love the natural birthing part of it because it is a good concrete way to show my daughter how her sister is going to come into the world. There is nothing like this anyway else, I would love to win this and would treasure it.

These dolls embody all that is right and good about childbirthing, mothering and parenting. They are tangible examples of what comes naturally. They "normalize" what so many seem to think is unusual, "Crunchy" or extreme. I'm a mother to two boys, a Doula and an aspiring Midwife. As a mother I want my boys to learn that birth is natural, breastfeeding is natural, and baby wearing is natural. I want them tot grow to become amazing partners, and parents. As a Doula and aspiring Midwife, I want my clients to be able to share the ins and outs of what to expect with their older children and new siblings in a fun and non-threatening way. MamAmor Dolls ae perfect for that! Thank you for what you do! I love your work! Happy Mothers day to us all!

This is so exciting. I like to try to share your FB page from time to time. These dolls are absolutely beautiful.

My favourite mommy aspect of the MamAmor dolls is that they're hand made. It may seem like an odd thing to say but in our house "making" is something that mom does. My 4 year old is convinced I can make just about anything with yarn and a crochet hook "mommy can you shay [crochet] me a baby mouse/hat/socks/dolly?" or "mommy I'm gunna shay you a pretty dolly". Hand made = most love in my house hold. So it might not make a lot of sense to some people but that's what I think makes them the most "motherly" is that they're %100 hand made, start to finish with love.

The fact that they give birth, bf, baby-wear and just look so happy is icing on the cake. Anything that normalizes the different aspects of motherhood that western society frowns upon (like breast feeding, baby wearing, actually educating young children about where babies come from.. I could go on but I won't) is just fantastic. Thanks for the chance to win

I LOVE the breast feeding aspect, but I LOVE the vbac dolls more. My first WA a csection, but hopefully 2nd is vaginal. I think these dolls are obviouslt made with care and detail in each her own unique style. I would rather give my daughter a single doll like this that teaches so much made with such love and attention to detail than 100 Barbies or American doI believe I remember reading about how there was travel to other countries to teach women how to make these dolls, if I am remrmbering correctly, that provides an income to a woman that may otherwise not have.

Honestly I love it all!! I love that she can go through the different stages of motherhood, she can be pregnant, give birth and breastfeed. It is a tough decision but I'd probably say that my favorite aspect is the breastfeeding, I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant and have a 4 year old very curious little boy. I feel like introducing him to this doll could help prepare him for what is going to happen not only to my body but also introduce him to breastfeeding early. I don't intend to hide when I feed this baby as I never hid when my son was born and I think it would be nice to have him slightly prepared before witnessing it first hand.

I love these dolls. What a wonderful teaching tool for my children and theraputic for mama!
Anonymous said…
What I love most is the fact that these dolls do things that we do. I have a boy old born via c-section and two girls born vaginally. We can talk about babies living in a belly and babies being born different ways. We wear our babies, we breastfeed our babies, we birth our babies. This is not a doll with which my children can pretend to portray breastfeeding a baby or pretend to carry a baby - the doll is meant to portray those things.

These are the first dolls I have seen to celebrate the beauty of natural parenting. Birth, breastfeeding and bonding are so important to teach to our children and these are a wonderful embodiment of the strength and courage of mothers and the sheer magic and wonder of birth.

I have to admit that aside from the obvious (birthing) I love how she can breastfeed and the way you can position her arms to cradle the baby. As I'm expecting I'd love to have something to show My 2 year old where her siblings are coming from and how she came into the world. I'd also like to encourage more play breast feeding for her and her dolls.

I love that she breastfeeds. I feel like in many childcare environments dollies and bottles go together because they are easy. You want to be able to model and work through concepts of caring for, but for my family at least it doesn't feel authentic since my still nursing three and a half year old is comforted and cared for in another way. I feel like MamAmor is a strong beautiful woman bravely nursing uncovered like so many of us do each day silently saying for our daughters and sons this is normal, this is ok. I think she is a beautiful celebration of womanhood and life. (My daughter being three and very into her science topics though will love most that MamAmor gives birth and the little placenta :))

I also love that the give away falls on my son's first birthday and it would be an amazing memory of my first homebirth. What a spectacular give away!

I love these dolls they depict every aspect of motherhood.
I love that they embrace all aspects of motherhood, from their pure portrayal of the female body, in it's real ness, to it's ability to birth, nurture, feed, grow and carry our babies, showing that the beauty of being a woman is more than the size of your breasts and waist and the makeup you are wearing, it is in our true beauty which can't be imposed or distorted. I love your work xx

I love the play and learn aspect of this doll.

While I was pregnant last year, the one thing children kept asking me was, "how does the baby come out?" They understood that the baby was in my belly and growing. They knew that when the baby was big enough and strong enough it would come out, but how? I wish I would have had this doll a year ago. It would have helped me explain the natural workings. This is a fantastic doll. Birthing and feeding naturally is the two most important things to teach children about babies.

P.S. this is the first Mother's Day I will be a Mommy

I love every aspect of motherhood that MamAmor dolls literally embody. Birth (I love that they normalize vaginal birth, but validate c-section mamas), breastfeeding, and most of all, love. Thank you for these amazing dolls!

I love that she practices attachment parenting in a way that our family can be reflected in her. That includes breastfeeding and using a sling.
I love that she is a tool that helps moms to mother, by being able to have a model that reflects their experiences (including birth & breastfeeding). Also, I love that each one is unique, which also is a great things to model for kids. :-D

I love everything about these dolls. I love that they do everything that I did for so long, pregancy, birth, breastfeeding, baby wearing. I miss those days

I love the birthing aspect: no other doll do it and it's like celebrating the joy of giving birth and passing this to my daughter. Of course, I also enjoy the fact she's breastfeeding her baby too as I've breastfed mine. I was looking to buy one for my daughter but it's to expensive for my budget... :( I hope I'll win this beautiful Isabella for her!!

As a birth doula I LOVE the birthing aspect! Its wonderful education for young children. Such a beautiful opportunity to talk about how birth happens. It opens up a conversation with children that I feel is so important. Birth, (and breastfeeding too) has become something that we do not see. For so many it does not happen in our homes anymore. Many times, the first birth a woman will attend is her own, having never seen a birth before. Birth has become undercover and perhaps a bit taboo, when so many of us here know it can be an amazing, triumphant, tender, overwhelming beautiful part of life. These lovely dolls allow us to break birth out of secrecy! We can use them to talk to our own babies about how they were born. Or just in general, how birth works! What does it look like, feel like and sound like? What questions do they have about birth. Starting these conversations at a young age can change our birth culture. MamAmor dolls are really groovy mamas, and I would love to share one with my beautiful 10 month old daughter.

MamAmor dolls make birth and breastfeeding normal. That is what I love about these dolls the most. Yes, the hair is so beautiful, the special clothing is lovely, the matching baby is so cute. The best part though is that unlike Barbie, MamAmor makes normal female mothering normal! It really is special! www.littlecrunchy.com

I think my absolute favorite thing about these beautiful dolls is their ability to breastfeed. I cherish my nursing relationships with my children so much, and I love that it is reflected in these dolls.

The mamamor dolls birthing feature is the one I can relate to the most, as it is in birth that a woman transforms in the ether and becomes a mother. The nurturing of breastfeeding is another amazing feature. I don't think I would be the mother I am without having a natural vaginal birth and extended breastfeeding.
If I don't win this drawing I hope one day to own a mamamor doll to educate my children about birth.
Thank you for making such beautiful, high quality dolls!
Katie

Aside from the 3 B's of birthing, breast-feeding, and baby-wearing, I love their big wide Mama hips. They teach my daughter, and my son, about women and mothers.

I love that MamAmor dolls are mothers. They breastfeed, babywear, give birth and snuggle their precious little ones. A lot of MamAmor dolls wear a nursing necklace like I do! I love that MamAmor dolls mirror the way I parent. They are so beautiful in so many ways!

i love that they encourage children to explore the pregnant/breastfeeding female body... and normalize the body's function vs. the mainstream sexualization of the female body...

I love when they have their hair up or are wearing head bands! As a mama who's chances to shower are few my hair is always tied up and my bangs wrapped under some piece of fabric to help me feel put together. I love that their faces show joy and happiness. Being a mama is my greatest joy. Who care if I don't shower often. I've spent my day caring for and being with my children.

I love everything about them! I love that there is always a way to have them connected. Pregnant, breastfeeding, babywearing.. I have been following you since you started and I think they are so beautiful. I think they would be such a fun tool to have when teaching pregnancy and childbirth to my teens in juvenile hall or to my private clients that hire me. They are gorgeous and I hope to someday have one.

Beauty, detail, and coolness of these dolls aside... I absolutely love that they normalize the natural state of mothering: birthing, breastfeeding, babywearing... Most dolls do just the opposite. They also represent the natural state of the mother: all colors, shapes, & sizes. Beautifully done. Thank you for sharing your craft-tastic vision and hard work.

I love the fact that your dolls can aid me in telling my 2 adoptive daughters why they didn't grow in my tummy, and how another mommy grew them and talking about their births and all the unbeknowns that comes with their story.
A difficult journey but a beautiful doll to help replay the story for as long as need be

I love that these dolls can teach kids including my own hands on what a mommy does by giving birth and feeding and carrying. As a doula I think it is super important for siblings to be involved and understand what is going on. These dolls help greatly in that education process!

Simplicity and diversity. She doesn't need lasers that shoot or buttons that blink, a mother, like every Mamamor comes innately with a simple elegance that can comfort and nurture, that can educate and inspire. A pure spirit that is there as a guide and a companion. Mothers, just like Mamamors are beautiful and unique. Each is cherished and loved no matter the color of skin or cloth, the thickness of hair or yarn, the taste for high fashion or simple dress, whether she is sporting the latest trend with a teething necklace, or prefers plain slippers and a sling. Both Mothers and Mamamors have one common goal, to educate, inspire, nurture, and to LOVE.

I love the breastfeeding aspect of it also. I love that you are giving people an option to purchase these lovely handcrafted dolls. I absolutely adore the fact every doll has a name and a different way of birthing. Every doll seems to have its own life story and personality.

I love how they are breastfeeding and babywearing mamas :-)
I love these dolls in their entirety. I am a birth doula and I think having one of these dolls would be a tremendous teaching aid with the older siblings in the families I work it. How wonderful that the doll can be pregnant, give birth, and then breastfeed! And the slings are an amazing touch as I am a huge advocate of babywearing. The MamAmor dolls are also one of the most beautiful creations I have ever seen. Thank you for this opportunity to win one. :D

I love breastfeeding the most, however all aspects of motherhood is depicted in your dolls the way I like it. MamAmor dolls are pretty, sexy, they are full of love and careing. Unfortunately in my country- Hungary- breastfeeding, giving birth in a natural way, are still issues that divide society. I truely believe that we can make a difference by, showing others that these things are just natural, there is nothing to be shy about. I would love to have one of your dolls :)

The MamAmor dolls are just incredible.. My favourite? That they are made with love and passion, that they are real little mamas for our babies to really role play with. To give my daughter a beautiful handmade doll that does everything that she sees- that she loves role playing already- nursing her babies, watching birth videos. I would love to have a MamAmor doll for her for our next pregnancy, I know that she would adore it!
