I intended to make my own birthing and breastfeeding doll when I was pregnant with my second child in order to help prepare my first (who would be present when I birthed his sister at home). I ran out of time to make the doll, though, as I was too busy writing a novel. Now I would like a doll for my daughter because it is unlikely she will get a chance to see me birth as her brother did.

Well, my name is Sara and it's my birthday on Saturday so I think that's a pretty good reason to want one of your works of art!! I am a breastfeeding counsellor and would love to add Sara to my collection :)

I think Sara would help my almost 3-yr-old daughter's transition to being a big sister in a few weeks.
oh boy. I have always loved dolls, but for the longest time I've been unable to admit it. something about not wanting to appear vulnerable and, I guess, "girly"? well, now that I'm grown up and a mama and have children of my own, I care less about what people think of me, and also I can always say it's for Trilli, my daughter, who is just two years old as of the other day. Trilli is fascinated with babies of all sorts, and likes to nurse all her toys, from her hand-me-down waldorf doll to her brother's Bob the Builder! I think she would be pretty intrigued to experience a mama doll giving birth and nursing a baby doll.

I'm a firm believer in healthy birth and breastfeeding education starting at a young age. I would love this doll for my son and future children to benefit from.

I am a midwife, lactation consultant and mother of 2 boys. Your dolls capture the power and beauty of the mother-baby dyad. I love them. I would be proud to have my kids play with them (though I'd be tempted to keep one for myself!).

I would love to win because I have a 13 month old daughter who I would like to have grow up knowing about birth and breastfeeding.

I would absolutely LOVE one of your dolls! Not only would I use her to play with my children to teach them about the baby we are hoping to have next year, but I am also working on becoming a childbirth educator and could use her to help me teach. Besides all the practical stuff, she is beautiful and as a knitter, seamstress, and doll maker I can appreciate all of the love and hard work that went into creating her.

We want Sara because we feel it's important for our daughter to learn that birth and breastfeeding are not only natural, but beautiful and filled with love. We want to normalize these things for her from the beginning! And once she outgrew the doll, I would save it for the birth center I'd love to open one day. :)

I would love this doll for my house!!! I am preggers with baby #6 and all my babies were breastfed, and would be a great way for my 1 1/2 yo to play pretend when the new baby gets here!! :)

It is so important to celebrate birth and breastfeeding as natural and beautiful. My daughters are 8 & 9 and have admired MamAmor dolls since they were 5 & 6. I would love to be able to present them with Sara this Christmas- My daughters are both excited and look forward to the changes that are beginning in their bodies. MamAmor dolls have made the discussion of pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding so much more approachable and easily led to open discussions of how women's bodies work. I want my children to continue celebrating their bodies as they grow. MamAmor dolls are a beautiful way to celebrate not only birth and breastfeeding, but handcrafted beauty, fair trade and cooperation.

As a Lactation Specialist, I have found that MamAmor dolls help in a classroom setting for adults as well as children. I work with young children, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and their families and have seen how easily a simple doll reflecting pregnancy, natural childbirth, breastfeeding and baby wearing can promote and encourage those practices. Sara would be a welcome addition to our family and community.

From Maggie: I am nine and I have asked for a MamAmor doll every birthday and Christmas for the last three years. My mama had one for work, but we couldn't play with it since it wasn't ours. My mama nursed her kids and I want to nurse mine, too- but she only nursed my little brother for 4 1/2 years. I think I will nurse my babies longer. I want to be a Midwife when I grow up. I think Mamas need to know how special their bodies are and that babies need to be welcomed with love and nursed by their Mamas for as long as they want. None of the dolls in the store encourage those things. But I think they are important. I promise I will take care of Sara and bring her to show-and-tell and that I will keep her for when I am a Midwife. Because children love dolls.

My daughter would love this doll. She is four, and was breastfed until earlier this year. She is interested in all things baby/birth/breastfeeding, and is really into roleplaying/imaginative play. Sara & baby would have a very happy home here :)

Liked and posted. I would love to win this doll and give it to my doula / LLL leader / friend. My daughter's 4th birthday is coming up, and I think that would be a wonderful time to thank her for all of the help/support/advice she's given us, especially in the early days.
I would love to have Sara to use in my childbirth education classes and at home with my own children. I want to normal birth and breastfeeding as much as possible. Sara is simply beautiful.

I'd love to win Sara to not only share with my children about how amazing birth is, but also to show clients (or their children) as well. I've almost completed my doula certification and this would be an amazing exclamation point toward that! I hope to buy a VBAC doll at some point for this purpose as well. :)

I'd love to have Sarah to share with my four children. My four year old wants to be a midwife, this doll would be a great learning tool for her!

I want to win Sara because I have 2 daughters and a niece (and 3 nephews too!) who would LOVE to play with this doll that can help them learn through play about how babies are born and breastfed. We love the look of your dolls and I still have my own rag doll from when I was a small child.

She is just beautiful. I know my little son would truly love to play with her as we welcome his new sibling soon. We love breastfeeding! He can't wait for my milk to return, and neither can I. :)

Sara is so lovely. My five year old recently got a little brother and is so in love with him. She has also learned about baby wearing and breastfeeding since brother was born. He was also born with some issues so it has been fun, but stressful for big sis. This would be a nice surprise for her.

I'd love to win Sara for my kids. We used your Facebook page to show them where their little sister was going to come from (oh...the first two are twins, btw). It worked great. No one walked out traumatized...lol.
Since they saw those pictures they have been asking me for a mommy [doll] that has a baby in her belly too, just like I did. I've gone on eBay, looking for that dog toy that was out in the 80's, that had babies in it's belly, but I cannot afford $50 for one toy.
Winning this doll would be the only way my kids would ever be able to enjoy one. I'm a SAHM with 3 kids that are 4 and 1, and we certainly don't have enough "extra" income to buy one, no matter how much we love these dolls!
Sara would have a good life here. xo

I would LOVE to have this doll! We are trying to have our second child in the very near future, and this doll would be a wonderful tool to introduce our toddler to the fascinating world of pregnancy and birth. Please consider me! Thank you!

Sara is beautiful :-) I have been admiring your dolls for a long time, and would love to win her. I am a midwifery student, and I can visualize her sitting in my clinic room, to be loved by all the visitors. I love the detail and thought you put into your dolls.

I would love to have Sara; my toddler just became REALLY interested in birth, and loves to "nurse" her "babies", and I'm sure would be THRILLED with a birthing/breastfeeding doll. (Not to mention her Mommy's excitement!! lol)

I am currently a LPN student & will be finished with my program in Novemeber 2012. After I take my NCLEX, I will be applying to Bastyr University in Seattle, WA to become a midwife. I am very excited about this new path in my life. I am a single mom of 2 girls. My oldest (3 yrs) was born at a birthcenter and my 2nd(3 months) was a waterbirth at home. I breastfed my oldest for 14 months & am doing the same with my little one. I had the most amazing care with my midwife and she is part of the reason that made me really kick into gear to become a midwife myself. I would LOVE to have Sara in my home for several reasons. My oldest daughter has turned into a complete mommy since her sister has been born. She nurses her dolls, changes them, uses a stroller, she uses a baby carrier and etc. I think she would enjoy having Sara around. The 2nd reason I would love to have Sara is that I think it would be wonderful to have her sitting next to me through my schooling to become a midwife and then have her on display in my office once I do become one. I personally enjoyed seeing meaningful things in my midwife's office and I think clients really enjoy it. Not only could it be a great teaching tool for children about their siblings being born but it is also a very neat thing to show to the whole family. Your dolls are amazingly beautiful and even if I do not win this and I do plan on purchasing one.
P.S. I wish I would have known about your dolls/website and the message you guys send out when I had my first daughter. It would have been a very uplifting thing for me to read. I had a very hard time BFing my 1st but we finally learned how to dance together and things were good.

I would love to win Sara, because she would be a wonderful gift for my 4 yr old daughter. Also, I am really in love with the idea of these dolls. I think they are great and I don't see enough tools like this out there for children.. I want my daughter to know about birth and have a healthy understanding of it. I'm currently pregnant with my second child, so we have been having a lot of conversations about birth. Having this doll would be great to add to that.

As a birth educator and advocate, I truly believe that we need to raise our daughters and sons to see birth and breastfeeding as it is, natural. I would love this doll to be able to show my daughter how babies are birthed, feed and carried in an age appropriate way.

I would like to win Sara, if I did I would give her as a gift to my amazing friend, tribe member, and beautiful mama- Sarah. Sarah is a mom who has inspired me in my own path of motherhood. In a very gentle, unassuming way she has planted seeds within my heart that have led to such wonderful things such as natural childbirth, and miksharing. She seems to always be trying to do better/more and doesn't give herself enough credit. She is a gift to me, so this would be a small token of love to her.

MamAmor dolls capture the unique essence and beauty of the birthing and breastfeeding mother. As a midwife, I applaud MamAmor for making dolls that reflect this. I would love to win the stunning Sara and her beautiful bubba.
